Lo sonar dell’alma is the musical project of Gianluca Campanino and Gabriele Natilla. It features instrumental Italian music from 17th and 18th.
It is performed on period plucked strings instruments such the baroque guitar, the colascione (sort of three-strings Neapolitan bass mandoline), the theorbo, the five-course baroque mandoline, the Neapolitan 18th century mandoline, the archlute. The repertoire is based on sonates and dances.
It is the result of the historical reading of the sources crossed with original arrangements and improvisation, which correspond to the typical approach of the period.
